greetings earthlings,

thinking of changing to a hydraulic fluid for my Ducati's clutch activation in place of using brake fluid, which absorbs water. Anyone got a suggestion for mineral oil based fluid?

Are you SURE the elastomers in that system are suitable for an oil? We know that oil will damage the elastomers in most brake systems due to their use of EPDM ethylene propylene diene monomer synthetic rubber.
EPDM is not recommended for applications involving petroleum derivatives. EPDM is generally attacked by mineral oils, solvents, and aromatic hydrocarbons.

^^^THIS^^^

It needs to absorb water, otherwise the humidity drawn in from the atmosphere every time the clutch is squeezed will be free to corrode your hydraulic system from the inside out. Just bleed it every two years with a quality approved brake fluid at the same time you bleed your brakes.
