We have two venta cold mist/ultrasonic units. However, Santa brought the flu for Christmas, and we needed another. I got a cheapie steam unit for like $13. Honestly for winter use I am really liking the steam unit.

Honeywell and a Vick’s, both tabletops, and both have been running nonstop for a couple of weeks. Both warm mist.

So far,this humidifier we bought,it's good enough for bedroom,but it's having a hard time keeping up in living room.

I've got both Vicks brand. One is cold and ultrasonic and the other is warm. The warm one goes in the bedroom to make sleeping more comfortable. But the dry and cold is just sapping the moisture out of everything. Really uncomfortable this winter.

We use an inexpensive Vicks warm mist steaming unit. Works good in cold weather.

Essick Air MA1201 (wick-type)... the ultrasonic ones leave behind white/crystalline powder.
