The Joy of Cheap Wipers

I've just been buying Costco's Michelin wipers when they go on sale for the fleet. They normally are on sale for $7 each or something like that. I think technically they have a lifetime warranty but I'd rather not. They are cheap enough and last me roughly a year.

In the mid-west with snow and etc. I normally just change them out before winter. They do have adapters for most, normally i just install right out the box but my Jetta has a unique one that i had to find the right adapter.

Oddly enough the tiguan's wipers have never been replaced and its going on 5 years. Its also garage kept tho.

I use the Costco Michelins also, had always found them pretty good for the money, but I have had poor results and short life with my truck the last few times.
Either noisy or skipping spots or only wiping in one direction.
I have cleaned the windshield to get the debris off of it, but I have to wonder if the short life, decline in overall experience is related to the First Brands downfall.
