Here's a great documentary of Hudson's domination in NASCAR for 4 years. An amazing story and it seems most history of NASCAR, despite its founding in what '47 or '48? - picks up when Ford and Chevy finally had their OHV V8s. Even more amazing is Hudson was using an L-head inline 6. Although a pretty big one. A pretty bad showing for Oldsmobile with their Rocket V8 not being able to out run Hudsons in the early and mid 50s

I love the story of how some of the Hudson cars modified suspension set ups allowed them to race and beat some cars with bigger cui engines.
