HP Pavilion 6643 RAM

Any sources for a 128MB stick of 168-pin SDRAM unbuffered for an old HP Pavilion 6000 series model 6643? I'm not having much luck.

They also have them in 256mb form. Not sure if your motherboard will recognize 256mb.

If this computer is connected to the internet, go to crucial.com and click on "scan my system." It should tell you how much memory you are able to put into the computer.

Ebay is another good source for used memory of this type. Before ordering from a website, shoot them an email or call to make sure it is unbuffered as many websites don't list this info for this type of memory.

I tried crucial.com first to no avail. I then tried newegg.com memory configurator & this model is not listed. The tigerdirect.com website gave me a blank recommendation. I also tried Kingston where they said memory is no longer offered by them for this model desktop.

256MB is the max for this machine. I believe it will only handle up to 128MB sticks.

I wonder if the computer is 66MHz & not 100MHz which is causing the failed search.

100MHZ will work if the PC Requires 66MHZ so long as it is unbuffered. 133 I don't think will work though.
