On here use Reply or Quote to get the toolbar -->Hover over "Enter an image"-->Click "Insert a non-floating image.

I did that and it wants a http link, I have posted with a Photobucket link before but would like to just put the picture ,it does not allow me to browse to my desktop where the picture is?

Gotcha. Somebody will correct me if I'm wrong but I suspect they don't do local file uploads due to disk space allocation on the BITOG server. Storing images locally would fill it up.

The picture has to be hosted on another site, like Photobucket.

Some forums let you upload pictures and attach them to posts, but BITOG doesn't.

The above photos are all hosted somewhere else, and you just get the link to make the photo appear.

Example-

-You upload a photo to photobucket
-Go to the photo you'll see one of the link options is "direct link"

Let's say it's this:
http://i1187.photobucket.com/albums/z394/stephen9666/DSCF4396-1000.jpg

You copy the link, then click "insert image" when making a post. It will ask you for the link. You paste the link in the box and it will be inserted so it appears in the post

Yeah you have to use a image host and then use the direct link. You can use your own bbcode or use the "Insert Image" button. Also most image hosts give you some sort of bbcode to just copy and paste. I prefer direct links and then using my own bbcode so it shows the full pic.

I like to use tinypic since it is free, you don't need to sign up, they have direct links, and you can resize the image.

For example If wanted to post this picture: http://i47.tinypic.com/lvfv8.jpg

I would put that link into the box that pops up for "insert Image" or I could use the following bbcode:

Code:
lvfv8.jpg

I had to put that in the code box because other wise it would have displayed the image like this:

lvfv8.jpg

Here is what the above post looks like as text:

Ive never posted any pics on any forum. That link made it so easy.

This is a fast and good website. I am not recommending changes.

But I wonder if someday we will look back at the Photobucket method of posting pictures here and in most other sites as being archaic, and funny.

The problem is that BITOG does not own Photobucket (or any other image hosting site for that matter). If Photobucket goes away or makes changes to the URL syntax or if users rename/delete files, these images will no longer display on BITOG. This includes numerous UOA results that have been posted here. Alas, such is the fate of a typical internet forum... content does not remain forever.

Off-topic folks....

ARB1977,

That side angle to your neighbor's house pic is deceiving. Looks like the high points to the roof are over the garage-only. I assume the front room to the right of the entrance is the living room. Does that have a cathedral-style ceiling?

Sorry it took almost six months to respond. It's deceiving, the roof line goes all the way to the top. The front room is a playroom. Their house has regular ceilings, ours are vaulted.
