How to ID auto trans on 96 Dodge Ram

Where can I find a code to tell me which transmission a 1996 Ram has? I've checked inside the door and under the hood but I don't think I've found it.

I also would like to know which axles it has and the gear ratio at the rear end.

Its most likely a 46re and 3.50 gears I believe are the most common

without knowing the series and configuration I would say It could be an automatic, may be a manual, gears 3.21, 3.55, 3.92, 4.10...Did I miss anything?
The good combo for a dodge is 3500 12-valve Cummins 4x4, Club cab, 3.55 gears, with a NV 4500 manual.. With a 3600rpm G Spring kit.. it'll do 115mph in 4th, 5th ??. Still have the weight and torque to tow a Duramax backwards..and get 21mpg on the hwy at 65mph.

actually I thought that 3.55 gears were most common. if your differential cover is oval with 10 bolts, its a 8-1/4 if it is kinda stop sign shaped with 12 bolts - its a 9-1/4. Probably a 46RE transmission -
