How to get to a million.

Hi, I am probably over thinking this but I have a lofty goal. My wife gave me a 1984 Land Cruiser for Christmas last year. It was well taken care of. The former owner took it to the dealership change the oil every 5,000 miles til about 2015 when he became to old to drive a manual. I bought it from his daughter, who I promise to take care of it. Over the last few months I spent getting it in excellent condition. There are no oil leaks and the oil pressure is right in the middle of the gauge. I daily drive it. When I bought it the odometer read approximately 404000 miles. Now it has 409243 miles.

I am planning to use 10w 30 (within spec and the weight the former owner used) Mobil 1 for Classic Cars because of it high ZDDP and low detergent adjuvants and a Purolator Boss oil filter. The 2Fengine is low rpm, heavy and hard to break. Any recommendations for keeping this engine running forever?

Wait.....................

Suddenly I hear the words from The Moody Blues song "The Actor" in my head.

"Oh, darling, you're almost part of me
Oh, darling, you're all I'll ever see"

She's a keeper!!
Great song!!

The only sure way I know is to get to 999,999.0 then drive very carefully one more mile. This also reminds me of another thing I've mentioned before: I have my great-grandfather's axe. The handle has been replaced 6 times and the head once...but it's still considered to be his axe. Best of wishes in your quest to reach your goal...I hope you make it!

Your wife gave you a Land Cruiser, but you had to buy it from the former owner's daughter? That doesn't sound like anything was given to you.

Recommendations? Do what the former owner was doing, it seems to work.

I think we need pics.
I had it painted blue. The oil and filter choice are good? I’m assuming the mobil 1 Classic Car is designed for hot rods not tractors but I could be wrong.

600k/20k/yr =30yrs. My son or daughter may need to help but I should be alive to drive the final mile. It’s more aspirational than a goal. But it’s going to be fun to see how far it goes and if it can outlast me.
