how to get roder off after taking off distributer cap.

I'm changing my spark plugs, wires, distributer cap and roder. I'm having trouble getting the roder off, the car is a 97 honda civic.

if anyone could help i would appreciate it,

I thought the roder would just slide off but i guess not.

The rotor on the Honda Civic has a small screw that holds it to the distributer. Some times when you take off the cap...... the rotor is turned so that the screw is facing/pointing downward .....and that is why you can't 'slide it off'. All you need to do is.....remove the 4 spark plug wires....and put the Key into the ignition and 'CRANK' the motor for a fraction of a second. This will spin the rotor slightly so that the screw is now facing upward .

I had the same problem when I changes the cap/rotor on my wife's 1998 Civic.
