How to get a broken car key on a key ring?

I do not have the broken piece. In fact, I'm very fortunate to still have the key and the car.

A few years ago after parking my car in a parking garage I dropped my keys.

Without thinking anything of it, I picked them up and went to class. After coming back from class to my car, I noticed my car Key was no longer on my key ring with my house keys and keyless entry remote.

As I looked down, I saw my key laying in the same spot where I dropped my keys a few hours earlier, right next to my car.

The plastic must have been very brittle and the piece that was holding onto the metal key ring broke upon impact.

Maybe you should have a spare?

Once again, this is the second Master Key.

I have two Master Keys, 2 Keyless Entry Remote Controls and Valet Key.

So no, I do not want to invest into a new key at this time as this will be used for back up purposes.

I would like to fix it so I can have this key on the same kry ring as my spare keyless entry remote.

From what I under stand, it is safe for me to drill a new hole above the NISSAN logo. I'll shave off the broken piece and the key should look decent for a back up key.
