How to clean gunk out of cooling system.

+1 I used that trick on my 93 SL2 as per the Chilton's manual, 238K and no cooling system trouble.

I have a 1965 mustang that needs the radiator and engine flushed. I have tried the Prestone radiator flush but I still have a lot of calcium build up and the car is overheating. I have read that using the cascade flush may damage the water pump. Has anyone heard of this? Is it safe to use cascade on this old of a car?

Fleetguard makes a HIGH POWERED radiator flush for big diesels. I think its still available from the local cummins dealer.

Cascade? Are you talking about the cascade that comes in green boxes, a poweder, sold all over the place commercially?
