How to best apply grease to convertible top mechanism

I have been using WD-40 Specialist White Lithium Grease on my convertible top's mechanism. I don't want to get the lube on the top and I spray it into a small container and then apply it with an artist's brush to each joint. I let the joints soak in the foamy lube for a while, then I open and close the top a couple of times, then I wipe the excess grease off the joints. It's a bit tedious and messy. I can't reach all the joints easily and I am looking for a better way of applying the lube. Suggestions, please?

Not sure there is a better way. Are you sure white lithium is the right product? If it’s like my top, the pivots are pretty well shielded from the weather.

Id think of a few options, depending upon how you. An get assess…

1) 00 grade grease that you can sit at the joint and let work in easier.
2) oil to sit on the joints
3) silicone oil like superlube

my concern with you working it wet is if the products get on the top in quantity… inside or out…

A squeeze bottle with a flexible tube with fine nozzle would be useful for precision application in tight spots. Maybe I can modify a squeeze bottle. Even with my current method I'm not getting any lube on the top.

I think lithium grease should work. The consistency is runny enough so the lube will work its way into the pivots. Oil may be more messy.

I never lubricated my convertible tops. Oil and grease has a habit of migrating on surfaces.
