Im tryign to clean up my fuel system as it sat with NO gas for months and the fuel sender is wavy. I have a LOT of mmo in there, like 25% mo to 75% gas and i want to add other cleaners liek regane

how much is good, or how much is too much? i desire agressive gas cleaning, and honestly the mmo seems to be doing really well especially since ethanol fuel goes bad fast

25% MMO is a horrendous overdose. My God...did you dump several gallon jugs in your tank? I presume you are talking about a car or truck...are you talking about a mowing machine or some other small engine?

Id run maintenance doses of techron, maybe with the spec amount of MMO (4oz/10gal) stacked. No more. I did studies back in the day and found my MPGs to drop like a rock with overdosing MMO.

Techron at least claimed previously that it helped clean fuel senders...

yes i did

I am talking about my 1984 Chevy Camaro 2.8L that sat dry with no gas fr a month in he cold and ran out on me twice before i got it running all nice, the pcv valve beign off scared me. now it runs very vey strong but the wwavy gas gauge annoyed me so i went to the store spend $30 on 2 gallons MMO and put it in a half full talk, and added a pint as the level went down so i now have like a 70/30 gas/MMO mix

and ti seems to work well

why, is this bad ?

how did you know my gas mileage sucks? i dont really care though, i idle the car so it always ins a half hour or more whenever i turn the key

as to the techron, yea, im trying to see if the gas passes the sender unit, i lose 4 gallons of gas whenever i stop and then it comes back like magic

I am having a hard time deciding if you are trolling or not SuperFast. Why on earth would you think that $30+ dollars of Marvel Mystery Oil in your gas tank would be an appropriate solution to your problem?

One of the well respected posters Gary Allen once did an experiment and ran several quarts of MMO in a tank to see what would or would not happen.

You've put several GALLONS, if what you say is true.

Please pull your spark plugs and take pictures. If you could pull the head and show the piston tops that would be super awesome.

no troll here, ChuckBerry please understand that i have added two and a half gallons of MMO in a 16 gallon tank and i am not familiar with "Gary Allan"

as to piston tops, i dont know how to take the engine apart all i know is my car sat for a few months with NO gas in it or very little, and i want to help clean things up as well as possibly un-do the wavy fuel gauge i do have.

seems i should go add some gas today so i dont add any further MMO in it, but perhaps some Regane and Techron will be added if i cant find redline.

sorry for confusion, and yes my car does have 30% MMO in it. i can always add gas it seems to run very well, shall i add 2.5oz MMO to every 10 gallons from here on out or 4 oz per 10 gallons ?

The correct dose for MMO, is 4 oz per 10 gallons. If I were you, I would have filled more gas, and gas alone. I don't think it would be wise to put in another additive, while having MMO in the gas. And, I guess you are aware now, that you have been overdosing MMO with several 1000%? At least, I think you have a clean carburetor/fuel system, now :-)

I'd siphon a 5 gallon can of gas out of the tank, then top off the tank with straight gas. Still, burn down a quarter tank and top it off again, repeat, maybe a couple times to get it diluted.
Then run a dose of Regane or Redline and maybe repeat if necessary.
Then when low, dump that 5 gallon can that was removed earlier in and top with gas since that can will have a strong dose of MMO.
With that much MMO, it probably will make a cold pulled plug look red hot, but the UCL isn't lacking with that dose.

If it's running, just run the tank down and don't add MMO for a few tankfuls. I'm not going to bother doing the calculations but you can figure out for yourself how long it would take to get the MMO concentration down to a sane level.

Though I'm with cjcride...I would be surprised if your engine would actually run with that much oil dilution.

It does run and runs well i wish i could make a vid

i put some regane in there today, one bottle of 2x concenrate

before i did so, i added two gallons of gas so im undiluting

the stron MMO mix, it runs and yes im attempting to lube up as much as possible

let me re-read as im trying to clean up the scratchy tank but yeah its got a lot of mmo, i let it idle a LOT and add a gallon and toda i added two, and i put regane in it too and i want to top it off with MMO, makgoing heavy on the MMO

im surprised you dont think it runs. i put in twp gallons then a pint on a half a tank which is 8 gallons i lose 4 gallons every time i stop the car that is what i want to fix

so.. 25% MM, actually 20% since 8 plus 2 is 10 gallons.

I stepped it up i put Regane down the fuel throat, it smoked a bit thats good and it seems to rn peppier. now erhaps it is time to add 100% gasoline and not go so additive-happy ? my pot is still scratchy but it runs better so im happy i guess.

Please do not take this same approach with Prescriptions. Or even teeth brushing. "Hey, if a tooth brush works well--imagine how good that wire BBQ grill brush would clean............"

I'd imagine it would be tossing all kinds of smoke like a fogging machine. I would try to get a little more gas in there, run down the MMO and try something like Techron. Then run the suggested dose of MMO 4 ounces/10 gallons of gas. You might also want to have a look at the plugs when your done since they might be fouled.

MMO has freed up a sticking gas float for me. Others have been successful if it is crud that is screwing it up. It does take time, be patient.

That's a ton of MMO. If it's running just continue to fill up gas with the recommend 4oz/10gal and let it do it's thing.
