How many unread emails do you have in your inbox?

Depends on the account. My personal one will range from 100 to 400, depending on if I am keeping up.

Work account usually has a min of 100 unread emails. Anything I've dealt with is filed away, anything I need to deal with is marked as unread. Every so often I'll burn some time getting the number down. I spend at least an hour per day on emails.

I hate having unread notifications. 2 unread emails for work, 2 unread messages in Teams for work, and none for personal.

I have zero. But I had to laugh thinking about a scientist I used to work with. One of the smartest guys I know and I work with a lot of MDs and PhDs. We had a shared voice mail system back in the 90s. In other words the system held like 2 hours worth of voice mails and the entire company had to share the 2 hours. Our IT guy discovered that the system was full and this guy had used up all 2 hours worth voice messages. He simply stated he didn't listen to voice messages so he never did. They made him delete them all but first he had to listen to them. He put it on play and went out and ran 5 miles then went back to work in the lab while they played. We would randomly listen to the messages. This was in the days before all the stupid automated spam calls.

Hey Steve! Thought you might be interested in our new lab equipment
Hey Steve! Haven't heard back from you
Hey Steve! Left a couple messages for you, is this still a good number to reach you

I've got a crap load, but they are all advertisements. At work, I had none.
And then there is Gmail...why you can't select ALL and delete is a terrible idea. I don't get anything there, but my wife and a friend of ours is a different story. Cleaned out my wife's gmail one day and got rid of 1200 advertisements!

I feel like during the pandemic I've gotten slightly less email. But so far today I've received 68 for work. I'd say it is close to 100 per day, very few are spam, although a great deal I am copied on and simply delete as they are not relevant to what I am doing; only about half of them are "important" to me.

Seems like at my work everything is getting done thru emails even some documentation which is sad!

I have to scan my emails VERY quickly and then ignore most. Otherwise (pre covid days) I could miss "we have food or bagels & cream cheese or doughnut in the kitchen".

Most of the email is my personal picture of family and space shuttle photos that not even the general public has access to. Eventually I will stop using Gmail completely.

You can but it's just really hidden.

You have to click the checkmark and click all. Once you have done that, a banner will come up and let you select all xxxxx conversations.

Hmm, currently only 200 or so. My record at one point was about 800 in my work email and 4000 at my junk email. I used to have a coworker with 20000+ and he was too scared to go too far back.
