Oh, are we counting junk mail? I have over 11,000 of them that I haven't opened.Zero. That's because all the junk mail goes unopened into the Spam folder either automatically or manually.
Doesn't your spam mail get automatically deleted after a week or two?Oh, are we counting junk mail? I have over 11,000 of them that I haven't opened.
I think reaches equilibrium at around 11,400 emails.Doesn't your spam mail get automatically deleted after a week or two?
That is what I do too. The Outlook app for my phone is awful in this regard, it cannot be set to not mark as read, I always have to do whatever swipe it is so as to keep it marked as not read—sometimes I see an email come in, I read it, then realize I need to answer but when I’m at my computer. There is also a difference between unread emails and truly unread emails.
I have many emails that I mark "unread" after I quickly scan them because I like to revisit and not to forget about them.
If you mark them unread, you will get the count plus they are highlighted (bold) and easy to find and group.
I've learned that you can make a copy of the email and paste into folders too. I've only done that once or twice, and I don't know if it really makes a copy or just lets the email show up in two places.@supton
I see what you mean. Sometimes the subject of discussion totally changes within a given email chain ... I usually end up creating my own email draft and save it in subject B folder to refer to subject A folder for additional info which is taking place under an incorrect email subject.
I've given up asking people to please start a new email or don't hijack ... It happens!
No, this does not work on the wife's or my Samsung S10. Maybe it's the version of Gmail, or a dependent setting, or just the implementation. I just tried it again and nothing shows up, not even select. Each email must be marked as selected individually, which take forever. I suppose if Google wants to store all that garbage, that's up to them.JohnnyG said:
I've got a crap load, but they are all advertisements. At work, I had none.
And then there is Gmail...why you can't select ALL and delete is a terrible idea. I don't get anything there, but my wife and a friend of ours is a different story. Cleaned out my wife's gmail one day and got rid of 1200 advertisements!
You can but it's just really hidden.
You have to click the checkmark and click all. Once you have done that, a banner will come up and let you select all xxxxx conversations.
