I`m just curious as to how many Toyota/Lexus owners use the GC in their 1mz-fe V-6 engines?? I have a small stash of it,and i will not let it go to waste, but my RX uses a little oil on it.And as we all know, the GC doesn`t have the starburst symbol on the bottle.(due to a european formula.)But the oil usage concerns me a little.Ony 1/2 Qt. in 3000 miles though.Does not use any oil at all on the PP 5w30,or so far the Mobil-1 0w30 Advanced fuel economy oil.

Maxlife would be better IMO but wait didn't you say it doesn't consume on PP? Well there is your answer...obviously your Japanese engine doesn't want German oil in it...

Used it in the past on my 2uz 4.7 V8 powered 4runner....nothing against it, just more expensive than some other options out there.

I only use Pennzoil Platinum with my 3mz-fe because it gives me the best UOA and oxidation and nitration numbers. I used GC twice in this engine(gold GC) and wear was up and oxidation and nitration numbers were higher too with their baselines. I might be the minority but i am definately not happy with the New GC, if it is new.

"your Japanese engine doesn't want German oil in it" I think your right PT. And deven, your right in their too. So far,I am very impressed with that new Mobil-1 0W-30,My RX really seems to like it.especially when cold. And very smooth rpm`s on the highway as well.

I should add that I do NOT use GC in any of my Toyotas that aren't sludge producers. YB or PP in those applications in the specified viscosities. Happily.

Well, the 1mz-fe that I have is a sludger.Due to hotter internal temps and head temp. This is what I have discovered. I am more concerned about the trans in this thing, more than the motor.

Good point on the trans. I went to syn ATF on my '02 (sludger) and have been real happy with that. Especially when I found out there were 2 drain plugs, one trans the other differential. Yet only one fill source. That may be different model year to model year.
