...now that I'm no longer using GC, I prefer to just buy my oil a few weeks before an oil change (on sale of course), just in case I change my mind and decide to run a different oil, or in case they make a change to the formula and I'd much prefer to get the latest stuff.

Getting the latest stuff would make sense to me except for the fact that the latest stuff isn't always necessarily better, at least not better in the areas that I care about.

. . .
And for the gun nuts:

1,200 rounds .38 specials
3,000 rounds .357 mag
6,000 rounds .9mm
. . .

Well, OK then, Johnnie's house is off my list of places to burglarize!

Back O/T, I've still got just over 100 qts of GC, all green formula, some 03, mostly 04, no 05.

I hoard all oils on sale. usually have 50-100 qts. But I keep 2-3 years of motorcycle oils/gaskets/filters because I buy them on-line and want to keep the shipping costs to a minimum.

4-5 quart jugs of Havoline because I heard the new formula was going up in price. 5/30
2-6 quart cases of PP 5/30

That's roughly for 1 OCI for the 4 cars (couple of cars take 6 quarts)

I let AA, Pep boys and Walmart stock the oil for me. And every 3 months someone is going to have a sale for me to buy enough for another OCI. Being the oils now are so good, that buying hoards of different brands is actually senseless to me. After reading on here, it really doesn't make a whole lot of difference which oil brand you use for 90% of all applications. They are all going to work just fine.

32 qts of PP 5W-20 (about 1.5 years worth for the Accord)
20 qts of MC 5W-20 (about 1 year worth for the Escape)
2 Purolator PureOnes PL14610's
2 Purolator Premium Pluses L14610's
4 MC FL-910's.

hey LOU,
is the FL 910 for the Escape.? The Fl820S ($3.35 from WM) is what is OE.

about 20 to 30 quarts of havoline, in 5 and 10w30
4 quarts of 5w20 Motorcraft
12 quarts of Valvoline Premium blue 5w40

i'm gonna let my Havoline stash run out and start stocking up on Troparctic for the family vehicles.

I may switch to Havoline Syn Blend deposit shield or Pennzoil/Q-state Syn.

i believe the 820s are for the 3.0 DOHC Duratec.
he probably has the 4-cylinder.

well i added another case today so my official counts are now:

18 10-30 penzoil plat
18 10-30 havoline synthetic
2 gal. + 2 qts. 5-50 catrol syntech
36 chevron 5-30
5 chevron 10-40
1 gal. + 1 qt. walmart 5-30
1 valvoline 5-40 syntech

so im looking at close to 70 quarts now.

my unofficial ammo counts are:

7000+ 7.62X39
4000+ .223
2500+ 7.62X54
2500 .22lr
1500+ 8mm
1000+ 9mm
800 .45 acp
500 .40
200 00 buck
200 .357
100 .44 mag

so my original count was off by maybee 8000 rounds.

I have about 450+ various quarts that I picked up on discounts, etc. Remember that Delo SAE30 (w/ some 15W40 thrown in) sale?

My wife is not pleased. At least I have 7 vehicles (including a diesel) to put it in.

Correct...you beat me to the reply. Yes, I have the 2.3L DOHC Duratec. Nice little mill, btw!

Currently somewhere between 60 and 90 qts. I have not counted it in a while since I moved it under the workbench.

In it's heyday of 133 qts (my cost around $200):

I had to add supports to my shelves to hold the weight.

I don't believe I've ever squatted on, or sat on for that matter, a single quart of oil.

The key is not squat on single quarts -- very uncomfortable. At least a half dozen, that's the key. . .

I'll remember that the next time I want to pull up some 5W30 and get comfortable.Thanks.

Let's see....

20 L GC,
2 qts Pennzoil 5w30
1 qt QS High mileage
1/2 qt QS synth
1 jug QS 5w30,

1 QS filter and 24 Napa gold filters. This takes care of 2 daily driven Toyotas, and a weekly driven ford (thus the QS jug/filter). I'm not obsessed with oil, though somewhat fascinated with it. I do however, have a natural tendency to hoard things I use on a regular basis, whatever they may be.

10 Qts of Mobil 1 10W-30
2 Qts of Castrol Syntec 5W-50
4.5 Qts of Castrol Syntec 0W-30 GC
1/2 Qt of Valvoline All Climate 10W-30 SL

I used to run nothing but Mobil 1 but after finding this site and doing some UOA for the first time found that the Mobil 1 wasn't working that great. Mixed with 1 Qt of the 5W-50 it seems much better per the UOA. I'll finish up 2 more oil changes with the Mobil 1 and Castrol 5W-50 mix. Now I'm trying GC in all my cars and equipment to see if it makes them happy. They are all slow turning GM V8 or V6 OHV engines so I'm hoping I can find 1 oil they all like.
