Hello and how many of you folks here use the Motorcraft syn blend and synthetic motor oil? I have thought about using it for 8-9k oci in my civic. Let me know what your thoughts are on this subject.

Of the syn blends, Motorcraft, Kendall GT-1, and Honda oils (all made by ConocoPhillips) are nearly identical formulations. I use Motorcraft 5W20 in 2 vehicles and Kendall 5W20 with Titanium in another at 5-7K OCIs. IMO, great oils at reasonable prices (e.g. $3.70/qt for Kendall).
8-9K OCIs on the blends might be a stretch in some climates unless you're at optimum normal service intervals...no problem with synthetics at that OCI.

Used it for 6.5k miles in my Honda and will probably change it out at 4k on my Acura. I prefer Kendall but it is impossible to find. As MC never seems to go on sale over here I only get it when I am offered a free oil change. It is a good oil though.

If you have a Firestone automotive repair store near you, then you can find Kendall GT-1 there.

No vices that I can find; no consumption issues, no wierd noises or ticks. The so called, "hero engine," the torture tested, EcoBoost Ford F150 used Motorcraft 5W20 Blend. Upon disassembly, all engine parts showed next to no wear.

Nothing but the best for my baby! 5,000 mile oci on 5/20. My effy just purrs on the stuff.
We started using the Motorcraft oil in our 2011 Ranger. The dealership was using Castrol in it and it always had a lot of valve noise- even when it was new. We told them to start using the Motorcraft blend oil and immediately the valve noise went away and it ran smoother and got better fuel economy. We are very pleased with the oil! I've used it a few times in my Escort as well and it always performed very well in it.
MC is a great oil and so is Kendall GT-1 blend but for a couple dollars more you can get QSUD which is THE oil to beat for the price. AAP has a good deal right now on it (5qt) w/ a P1 $24.99

How about Trop-Artic? 2.28/qt with case of 12 @ Sams Club, 5-30.

I was looking around yesterday while on vaca and discovered that the guy at the FIRESTONE shop said he could fill my 5qt jugs for me for cheap. I asked a friend that works at FIRESTONE near my work back home and he said they do that for customers if asked.
I use MC 5W-20 in my ASTV (All-season Transport Vessel...aka 2000 Grand Marquis) and my sister's and B-I-L's Toyotas.

Yeah I had contemplated getting a 5qt jug of either Kendall syn blend at firestone, or the MC 5w20 synblend at wal mart and using it for 6-7k in my civic.

Doesn't InterState Oil, your local Kendall distributor, offer the GT-1 oils?
I buy Kendall syn blend by the case ($44.40) locally at my distributor.

I think JavierG is correct, as there is NOT a dealer of Kendall around me. It doesnt go on sale either at Autozone. May look in my real dads area to see if there is a dealer or just stick with going to Firestone with some 5qt jugs since I can have them filled up.
