I used the U.S Postal Service to mail a test sample to Blackstone on 2-13-09. As of 2-20-09 I have not got the results back yet. (I am pumped to post my first test results.)

They are only one state away from me so I thought it would probably get to them in 3-4 days.

What has been your experience on how long it takes to get results back from various labs? What method of shipping did you use?

I've gotten email results back from Blackstone in as little as three days sending by Priority Mail from SC. I just sent off a sample on 2/17 so I'm waiting also. Maybe they have gotten behind due to bad weather?

I usually send the sample US express mail. I normally have the results in less than a week. Blackstone normally runs the sample within a day of recieving it. Usually the same day.
THere was a holiday Monday, maybe your sample sat at the post office all weekend before it moved.

I thought about that but I think you need a customer number first. Don't they automatically e-mail the results to you?

If you wanted the tbn results with your test, that is why it is taking longer. They told me that the chemical?? they use for tbn results is backordered. If you call or email them, they will send you the rest of the analysis. Thats what I had to do. They said they should be able to run the tbn tests early next week.

I've sent in two samples and received results both times in less than a week after mailing. One with TBN and one without.

They told me the same thing when I called them two days ago.

Ahh...that explains things a bit. I sent a sample off 2/9 and have heard nothing. I'll email and get what results they have done.

Usually take me 1-3 weeks to get results back. I think it's slow due to the post office being worried that it's going to a "lab". I always get hassled at the post office.

I called them today and they still have not received it. Snail mail is true statement this package through the US Postal Service.

Many times I have had it sit at the local place for a while, or that's what I believe, & it might take 4 weeks. Sometimes, I will get results back in < 1 week.

I stopped sending my UOA's by US Mail. They always red flagged it. They think used oil is Hazmat. I just send it Fedex.

I have sent 7 or 8 samples, all by first class USPS. The quickest was about a 5 day turnaround from the day I mailed it. The longest was about 11 or 12 days. I have noticed that samples mailed within the last year or so seem to be taking a few days longer, but ALL have been less than 2 weeks.

I can live with that. BTW, I also noticed that the report is posted on their website sometimes several hours before I get the email.
