My truck is coming up on 5000 mi and i am contemplating switching to Mobil 1 synthetic. Is 5000 mi to soon? I have heard varying opinions on this and i just want to see what you guys think.

With the excellant build tolerances engine manugactures have I switch to synthetic at first oil change which occurs when vehicle arrives home from the dealership.
Every car/auto I buy gets a group 4/5 oil as soon as I pull in the driveway. Never had issues to date.
I changed mine to a full Synthetic at the first oil change at 2,500 miles. No issues and now have 102,000 trouble free miles.
5000 miles is fine. I always change mine at 2500 with dino, partly because the oil isn't going to be in there real long, then at 5000 with synthetic.
why switch?
5000 is fine. I waited until I did my first change at about 1500 miles to change to synthetic.
