How long for a starter?

I just replaced the original starter in my Corvette a couple of weeks ago, with just under 114k on it at the time. I believe the starter itself was perfectly fine, it was the solenoid that was giving me trouble, but they don't sell just the solenoid up here and it made sense to do the entire unit anyhow since it was only $250.

The starter on my mom's corolla lasted 70k, and then still working now at 187k after a rebuild. My Integra is still on its original starter at 230k.

It all depends on your type of driving and do you hold the start for longer than needed and have the starter "slip" afterward.
