How long do OEM brake drums last?

my drums were deemed to be worn down to the point where they are just shy of not being minimum Specs. My question for anyone who might like to chime in is this:

That sounds pretty squishy.

Based on my recent experiences with non performance (and even some of those) aftermarket parts - id be attached to factory drums too. if they were under the limits and smooth id do a shot slap like ecotourist did if it were my car. Recognizing a shop is just want to replace them with some aftermarket junk....

Mine lasted 270k miles and the original one was crushed with the car. I don't know if I'm doing it right, maybe it was never used and that's why it lasted so long.

Pretty sure my 96 ram with 450k miles including a lot of fifth wheel towing has OE drums. The fronts on the other hand….
