Just to provide some perspective, Honda only calls for the filter to be changed every other oil change (OCI is 8k-10k-ish) and one of their two parts-counter filters that run a good portion of their engines is pretty much just an orange-can Fram painted black.
Given that most folks here run something a little fancier than that, I'd have no qualms about running a half-way decent filter for 2 OCI's. (That said, since I'm already under the car, and it's cheap, I change it out anyway. Might make a big difference if I was a dealer who offered Free Oil Changes for Life (all those ~$4 filters add up), but not for an owner.)
