To you and me, yes. To my wife, not so much.

And if the wife ain't happy, nobody's happy.

Ended up ordering the HP one for her. I've seen some people complain about the touch pad design (no physical click L/R buttons). A few others complained about noisy fan. We'll see how she likes it. If she hates it, we'll send it back.

Good to hear. I HAD to have a matte screen (had it with glossy LCD) since I do use the unit out in the field with Wi-Fi spots.

Lenovo is very weird on how they manage power (guess that is why I'm seeing 6-7 hours per charge) to a point that the screen dims quite a bit to save the battery life.

Overall I'd give it a 4 out of 5. Love the keyboard and screen. Wished it had indicator lights for Wi-Fi and HD. Sound is acceptable (MUCH better than my ASUS 15.6 or Acer netbook it replaced) and form factor is excellent.

Let us know what you and your wife think of the HP.

Take care, bill

Quick update on the HP DM1-3020US. So far so good. The wife likes it. The touchpad is a bit weird and it takes some getting used to, but it's not terrible. Fan noise is usually not an issue in typical low-CPU demand activities such as web browsing and email. It was only somewhat noisy when I was migrating stuff onto it and installing all the Windows updates. All in all, it's noticeably faster than my MSI netbook with a single core Atom, and the slightly larger screen (11.6" vs 10") is nice, too. And it seems well built. Let's just hope it lasts.

By the way, Amazon delivered on their promise and refunded 100% of what I paid for the troublesome Asus netbook... 1.5 years AFTER I bought it and after the mfg warranty has expired. Great customer service! That's why I bought this HP through Amazon as well.
