Has anyone used the 3M fuel system cleaner.
Is it an effective cleaner?
It's pressurized and you connect a line from the can to the shrader valve on the fuel rail. You run the engine from the pressurized can after you disable the fuel pump.

msds shows 30-60% pea
40-70%% solvents
5-10% alcohol dispersants
I'd say it is good but not worth the money. You can do the same thing with a $10 jug of redline, B-g, tectron, amsoil, lucas , etc, sucked through a fuel rail vacuum line.
Hard to justify $50 when $5-10 will do.
If you let your injectors get that clogged , they probably need replacing anyway.

VERY good stuff. However, I started to use the BWD brand cleaner (also has an intake valve cleaning additive) since it is about $12 ay O'Rielly Auto where the 3M stuff is almost $25 a can. There is a much better cleaning thru the fuel rail with straight cleaner vs cleaner added to the tank.

I actually used it on my 2005 Ford 500. I was impressed enough to buy another and use it on the wife's 2007 Subaru Imprenza.

I purchased both kits from Amazon for ~$36, "3M 08963 Fuel System Tune-Up Kit". Very easy to use. Just like the short on-line video shows.

Seems to do almost everything. Cleaner in the tank. Spraying the throttle body. Metered cleaner as the engine runs. The three together seems to be better than the usual stuff in the tank.

I would rate the kit better than redline or any of the others chad8 mentioned but I don't feed them through any vacuum line. I would rate it as good as BG44k.

The kit from Amazon is NOT the injector cleaning kit. That one needs shop air and is specifically designed for professional. It is NOT DIY. Having said that, almost all of the reviews for the DIY kits are positive. If you watch for the deals, you can pick it up under $20 after rebate.

Yeah, people missed the part about the pressurized can and the shrader valve, lol.

These (thru the fuel rail) systems are the only kits that are worth it to me. That other 3M kit for the do it yourselfer is an over priced gimmick. You can buy Redline or Techron for the tank and a can of intake cleaner for much less and do the same thing.
