PTFE(aka Teflon) is NOT a good thing inside engines. It is a semi solid that has concerned alot of people about its ability to clog oil passages. Also Dupont has said a few times its not recommended in engines. It simply can't bond to metal without HIGH pressures to do it. And the engine simply can't provide the needed environment.

I would NOT use solvents in my crankcase. There is too much of a risk in it attacking seals and removing the oil film on bearings and other high friction surfaces and thus allowing metal to metal contact and rapid part wear.

The only cleaning add I would trust for the oil is ARX as its not a solvent and cleans gently over time and mileage.

I personally use MMO in my fuel and is does seem to smooth my engine out. Don't know about limeage claims as it hasnt been that long and I havent refueled yet.

Som good adds I like(many I have used others just researched)
Gas:
MMO
Techron
Gumout Regane & Large Vehicle Fuel System Cleaner
BG44K
B12 Chemtool(its mainly toluene and acetone, MEK...)
Lucas Upper Cylinder Lube and Fuel Injector Cleaner
Redline SI-1

Oil:
CD-2 Street Legal Oil Boost(aka SLOB)
Valvoline Synpower Oil Treatment(VSOT)
SXUP
Auto-RX
Power Service Diesel Lube Oil Extended
STP Oil Stabilizer(from what I hear it has tons of ZDDP, although it is very thick)

I know people, and have heard of others, who have used MMO in the crankcase with good results for what they were trying to do.
As far as cleaning the inside of an auto engine or the oiling system, there are other, stronger cleaners that work as well and faster than MMO does.

Thanks for psudaytona's input. That was helpful.
friend of mine used STP complete system cleaner and sta-bil caused the converter problem and in some of the rare cases here (one people use MMO cause its engine light one)... I think we will need to be carefully to choose the additive for ourself.

The STP complete seems like an ok add, their Octane Booster has a TON of solvents in it, like Naptha. It would clean pretty well I would guess.

The STP gas treatment stuff is pretty weak. Its rated as 90-100% kerosene....
