does like the title says... how does the redline fuel treatment compare to some of the higher end fuel additives like bg 44k? is it good to use? better than bg44k? comments on it please

well the SI-1 is A LOT cheaper than bg44k thats why i ask.. i can get the SI-1 for about 6.00 and the bg44k seems to be around 20-28. How many gallons does a normal bottle (15oz) of SI-1 treat?

SI-1 here in virginia is $6.98 at advance auto.
bg44k is hard to find here, but my nissan dealer now carries it and it's $17.00 per can.

i use both myself since i can't look into my engine i have no idea of how any additive works...i my cars run like silk so i assume iam doing some good..my oils stay clean for along time and dip stick is spotless!!

SI-1 is all I use and it can be bought at Advanced Auto Parts or AutoZone. Advances is like $1-$2 dollars less per bottle then AZ.I use one bottle ever 6 months and it keeps things clean. I would prefer to do that and do a maintence dosage each fill up but I just can not spend the money on that. It is hard to justify the expense when you have a wife and three kids with their hands in the till all the time!!!

I have used both myself and have seen comparable results. However the Redline I have used in gummed up carbs on lawnmowers and bikes and WoW!!!

44K however has helped clean out its fair share stuff too, I have just not tried it on heavily gunked up stuff.

what is a good dosage regimen for SI-1?
Can 1 bottle every 6 months be good enough?
What about every fuelup? Overkill?

Now I used Redline in my Sear's Craftman rideing garden tractor wich is carberated and it did fine. In fact I often test stuff on this rideing lawnmower. I put an entire bottle of SI-1 in that little 1 gallon tank and it ran fine!!!I used it in my 4Runner for years my Camry for almost 4 years, wifes 1997 Lasaber for years as well. They all run noticely better buy the time they have ran 3/4 of the tank through them!

As a matter of fact the injector's on my Camry have 12 little tiny orfices that inject the fuel not one big hole in the center. If Redline was going to varnish something up you would think that these would take the hit!!! Instea it keeps then clean.

For a while there I was running half bottle of SI-1 per 14 gallon tank, made the car very very smooth. Now I am playing around with a custom mix of Lucas and MMO that seems to make the car quite happy as well.

interesting... if most people would agree its at least as good as bg44k if not better then i'll just start getting the redline all the time, its a #@$%! of a lot cheaper and easier to use imo (no stupid pop can type opening) anyone have anything negative to say about it?
