On my IPhone you open the camera and do like you’re going to take a picture. It will open a box to click on.

Thanks. I tried that with my phone and it doesn't work. Maybe I need an app of some sort?

Without knowing how old the phone is or what Android version it's running you might have to use Google Lens since older versions don't have the qr scan ability in the Camera app.

i use the trend micro one on play. not as much extra stuff as lens has, which sometime you neither want or need . you should keep a QR reader on your phone. lots of places going to QR menu and ordering .

Well, now that I know what the solution is, I can experiment with different apps to find the one that's best for my needs. I've never had a need to scan a QR code, and after this situation may not have another need for a long time, if at all. Anyway, thanks again, you've been quite helpful.
