How do I keep things lubed in sand?

Can anyone give some tips on how to keep motorcycles and trucks lubed in sandy places and on sandy trips, and keep sand out of places where oil should be?

One of the most important things is to make sure you have a good air filter and that the intake is tightly secured. You should also make sure any dipsticks and fill caps are on tight.
