How do I determine what my network key is?

I have a linksys wireless router that I want to use my work laptop with instead of the air card. The sign-on screen asks for my network key.

I know the router name and password, but when I go to the router homepage, I find nothing under all of those tabs that indicates a "network key."

The router PIN number does not work as a network key.

Go to Control Panel > network and internet > manage wireless networks. Double click on the network you're using and a dialog box will pop up. Click the Security tab and the network security key will be there. You may need to check the box that says show characters to get them to display.

Thanks. I just followed your recommendations, riff1066 and I found the network key. It's the same as my password. ???

I'll try my work laptop wireless connection again and try and determine what's going on. Or not going on.

It would be highly advisable for you to change it to something else.

You're saying change both the password AND the network key? I believe they were factory set as a default.

Yes. You really don't want to be using the default passwords as you are making yourself very vulnerable for a hack.
