How Did Purulator Quality Control Sink So Fast?

It is the bottom hole in the pics. I know it's tough to see but the separation in towards the top of the hole. Going to hold off on cutting it open for now. After reading this thread I'm afraid of what I might find inside.

To be honest, I've never cut one open. If Purolator doesn't want it. I'll gladly send it to any one of the BITOG can dissection experts to pull apart.

skimmed most of this thread, and didn't see a response to this question, so here goes:

Purolator was a 50/50 joint venture between Mann-Hummell, and Bosch. sometime in the last year or two, Bosch pulled out, and sold their shares to Mann-Hummell. making them now the Majority Shareholder.

Great point. Reading his legal brief, obvious that his firm of Dumas & McPhail LLC would require him to have a legal secretary with at least a Masters in English. As it was very professionally written, by now many must have signed up to part of the Purulator (sic) class action. I know I'm watching closely to see how the suit goes.

The question is how many have actually taken the time to complain to Purolator?

If it is just one or two the numbers are not much of a indicator for them to go off of. If everyone who has one that has torn makes a complaint than it will start sounding alarms.

Who knows, they may have already taken care of the issue or it may have taken care of it's self. It could have been a bad batch of stock for media(whether or not they knew about it) that was either removed from production or run out and we are left with the filters that made it into the wild
 
A class action lawsuit is easier to file than most people realize. Civil lawsuits are not handled like criminal cases and theory of proof is different. I find it ironic how 90% people on here were gushing about how great a value a Purolator Classic was. Whats the new nickname going to be? White Can Of Death or Gold Can Of Death?

They didn't say anything to me. I had the receipt. I picked up a couple of Fram Ultras, paid the difference and was out the door. I wanted to get Tough Guards since they would match my OCI's better but they didn't carry them.
