Ozark Automotive Products is affiliated with O'Reilly Auto Parts. The O'Reilly brand has several different separate companies associated with their brand. Ozark Automotive Products is one of them. It would be an East Penn battery.

That would make two good experiences I've had, now, with East Penn batteries. The previous owner had this battery installed in October 2012 at an "Xpress Automotive" in Phoenix, AZ. Looks like a no-name automotive shop; they must have a contract with O'Reilly to supply batteries. Thank you!

I had pretty good service from the first Walmart EverStart Maxx we had in our MDX a number of years ago. It stayed strong for about 3.5 years, when it died in pretty quick fashion (and in mild weather, too). I bought another one and it's never seemed to be quite as good as the first one. It never has seemed as strong, and it's noticeably slower to crank when the weather gets "cool" now (sub 60 deg F). I have a feeling that I'm going to have to replace it this winter. If I do, it probably won't be with another EverStart.

The East Penn "Duracell" I bought from Sam's Club for our CR-V was a great battery, and was sold with the car a year or so ago.

Our Ridgeline has a "Super Start Premium" from Ozark Automotive Products and it has a 09/12 date sticker on it, so it's over 4 years old. It cranks the engine super quick, and shows no signs of stopping yet. Who makes Ozark's batteries? Are they their own company, or are they a re-sticker?

I had issues with the maxx battery in my S-10. Like you said, the second wasn't quite as good. I went to an AAP silver (admittedly also JCI), and it has been good.

Just something I noticed recently and thought I'd drop here. I've always used JCI batteries with great results. 2x a year I pop the caps and top off with distilled water. It will always need a bit as well, I attribute this to the hot climate I live in. Last month, the year and a half old Wallys Maxx in my younger brothers 2008 F150 wouldn't crank the truck. This is the battery that replaced the stock JCI Motorcraft. He took it to Wallys and they waranteed it out and gave him a new one. Out of curiosity I opened the caps after he installed it, and there was barely enough water to cover the plates. The water level was never maintained in the first Maxx battery and I'm wondering if it was installed low on water and ultimately that's what caused its early death.

Im also curious if the JCI batteries in The Critics fleet have been topped off with water from time to time.

Knowing Costco's reputation for premium stuff at normal prices along with their return policy, it wouldn't be that big a stretch to buy a battery from them.

I've had one of those Interstate - Costco Group 35 batteries for a whole 2 weeks now, and it's worked flawlessly!!! Having said that, it really doesn't take much to start the 1.9L engine in my 1995 Escort.

Give it another 6 months and the terminals will be leaking. JCI batteries totally suck compared to Deka.
