To eliminate any potential issues oem is the best choice. So if champion was your oem part then they will be fine

If it takes more energy to fire the E3 plugs, I see no advantage to them.

My engine run with more grunt and better mileage vs oem. Every vehicle I own gets better than rated fuel economy, and everything is high mile except the charger with 90000 miles now.
So considering the improvement any extra cost potential in buying new ignition parts is a wash until enough miles rack up that thT fuel economy improvement pays for itself and starts making me money.
Don't use them. No one is asking you to.
But to say there's no advantage is burying your head in the sand.

I have a real hard time with this "advantage" given that as long as the mixture is ignited the flame front will propagate in the same manner regardless of the fanciness of the plug lighting it.

That's why OEM's don't chase spark plugs for fuel economy. If there was an advantage here, they would, as it would be cheaper than many of the other things they go after.

Amazing how the mind plays tricks on people. Given the same size spark gap, if more energy is needed to fire means that the plug's internal resistance must be higher. Doubtful that can be beneficial. Atleast one person fell for the E3 sales gimmick.
