You can’t draw a wide brush for every school district in a state, every state has some good ones.
There is no free lunch is an old outdated saying.

I keep hearing how bad Arizona schools are because of the low tax structure and teacher pay. Where I now live has a beautiful high school. I wish I could have gone to a school like it when I was at that age.

My high school was an over crowded nightmare. And it was located in a city that had unbelievably high property taxes, and still does. Sometimes when it comes to property taxes and schools, more money just equals more waste.

You're not going to be better educated because your teacher can afford to drive to work in an expensive SUV.
 
In our neighborhood we just had a double wide mobile sell for $230,000. A lot of us were shaking our heads. You can buy a brand new one for less. This one was three years old.

Yeah but does it have a $200-$400 million high school? Lots of high priced high schools going up along with property taxes around here.

Where I come from in NY 1600 to 2000 sq ft ranches and capes start around $500,000 for something in good shape and easy go to $750,000 on 60 x 100 foot lots. A few of these communities that have extended those small homes now have homes on the market for over a million, I dont see them selling but who knows anymore.
Purchased my home back in 1992 for $177,500 down from the owners asking price of $200,000. Last summer, 2 houses on my street went for over $100,000 over the original asking price. Gave new meaning to the phrase “bidding-war
Anyway……..about a month later I received a packet in the mail from a Realtor who had a client (that saw my house when the other 2 were for sale) that wanted to purchase my house. Contained within that packet was a full work up containing Comps researched with a very substantial offer. To tell you the truth, I had no intention to sell but licked my lips after seeing it………

The trend in my Village is to snap up those 1600 to 2000 sq ft Houses on a 60x100 plot, doing a full rip and demo, and putting that new 6000 sq ft home on the Market for 1 to 1.3 million!

Wow very cool! At least it’s a real nice house!
That is what has happened in some areas of Wantagh Seaford, Massapequa and Bellmore.
Until 16 years ago I spent most of my life in that area above.
Long Island is big for contractors buying up rundown houses and flipping them fixed up.

Actually I guess nowadays any places it’s just on a different price scale
