Hot, hot, hot!

Thread kinda startled me!! that's the name of our house boat(Hot,Hot,Hot)! Wondered how Gman had come up with that bit of information.

But yea, weather's made me wish to have been spending MUCH more time on boat instead of work. We've been having week long periods of 100+. Even the lake water where boat's docked is 85deg.

118F? Sissies!

Actually, that's painfully hot - more than modern man should have to bear. A family member, who regularly visits Pakistan, said it hit 52C on a recent visit. And the electricity regularly goes out too.

100F here in Calif. Maybe we should have a special Weather/Meteorology category so we can post things like this and for those that like weather as a hobby.

Here in Arkansas we've "cooled off" to the upper 90's. It was so hot 2 weeks ago that my step-daughters couldn't wait to return to New Mexico. I know that it's more humid here (lived in NM off & on for over 13 years), but that wasn't the issue. It was over 100 for days on end with a heat index of over 110.

Until last week at least we were surrounded by a beautiful green landscape as we sweltered. Now, though, the landscape is getting to be more of a tan/beige & burn bans are in effect in the majority of the counties.

It's been at least 100F for the last 15 days or so. Upper 90's the last 3-4 weeks. And ZERO rain.

The good thing about this HOT high pressure over the southeast portion of the U.S. is soley that Hurricane Dean couldn't hit the U.S. mainland. All in all, that's a good thing.

Now that the Hurricane is almost defunct, I'd like some rain.

Crunchy brown grass isn't too fun.

There was no rain here for a decent time. Now I'd gladly give you the last 3 days of non-stop (almost) showers.

Sweltering 55 degrees last I looked (5.00 a.m.)

Just remember --

This is the "warm weather" all of you wished so devoutly for back in February. And I warned you it was going to be nasty, and your power bills were going to look like the national debt of a small South American country.

Hope you like your "warm weather"! Bwahaha!

(Hm. Please pardon me while I cool off from The Swamp's heatstroke-inducing temps.)

Pretty good day yesterday, only 101F. Rained hard for about 5 minutes, around 8PM last evening. Checked rain gauge this morning, just a little dampness in the bottom.
