Ford offers silicone hoses and "aircraft hose clamps" as an option on police Crown Vics. Anyone know who's hoses and clamps they are using?

ill look it up at work tomorrow and see if i can find anything. i remember seeing them on some cars, but only ever saw the ford engineering numbers.

I don't know who makes the clamps, but I get the smooth clamps from my industrial hose supply house.

We put silicone hoses on my buddy's Camaro years ago and used the factory spring clamps. Been about eight years now and no failures.

Are the hoses blue?

I have seen "Goodyear High Miler" hose kits which are a special blue color and made of an extra high grade material. Many of them are for Fords.

That in mind, the blue stuff might not actually be silicone.

I get all my constant tension spring clamps from Mc-Master carr supply.

when I buy a new vehicle that will see alot of miles the first thing I do is replace the factory spring clamps with the constant tension clamps. their pricey but cheaper than a tow when the truck pukes all the coolant out on the highway when a spring clamp fails.

And any intercooler piping gets them on every connection.

The Japanese-style spring clamps are actually decent if not a PITA to pull. I prefer German-made Gema or Norma clamps that are OEM on Mercedes/BMW/VW.

And I believe Goodyear's Hi-Miler blues are the same as their heavy duty blue heater hose I tried to get my hands on from a truck parts house. I prefer Gates nowadays.
