Looks like you have an '08 G8-GT with the sport package that has those 19" wheels and the Bridgestone Potenzas. The salvage yard wants $12,500 for a wrecked car. It already has 40,000 miles on the clock. You don't have any service history on this car either. It could be 40,000 stock, easily driven and well maintained miles or the car could have been modded, reprogrammed, beat on constantly, who knows. Based on the amount of damage I'm seeing in those pictures, I'd be concerned about the amount of damage underneath the sheet metal. There could be front suspension/alignment issues, various brackets/supports that could now be bent/damaged/missing all together. Which is why I'm guessing the insurance company of whoever owned it before decided it was too much of a hastle to try and fix it. Plus considering G8 production has already stopped, I'm not sure how available new parts will be. I'm a bit concerned about this too since I happen to own a G8GT. To get that car to be "right" again, it's going to be more than that $14k figure.

They always say this. Unless they set it up on a frame machine, they have no way of knowing. You'll know when all of the new body parts you buy don't match up to the holes on the body. I'd run from this and all reconstructed cars - there will be no savings in the long run especially if you plan on selling it.

And for the quarter panel, you can cut it at the belt line and section in a new one. Figure around 16-23 hours of shop time.

Usually a couple of panels and a bumper (or two) will not total out such a new car. There HAS TO BE more damage than that, or else the insurance company would not have totalled it.

I'm gonna ask for a a pic of under the hood. Maybe under neath the car too. The guy I talked to said that all the clips and attachment were there for the mounting of the parts. Its a gorgeous car. The engine parts will be easy to find, body parts will be availabe through aftermarket companies I'm sure. At least I hope. Its stupid stuff like electronics and clips thats scary.
