That's interesting the Isuzu Rodeo of those years isn't included. It's the exact same vehicle. IIRC, the last year Fuji-Heavy in Indiana slapped a Honda label on them was 2002, where the Rodeo went until 2004.

As far as I know, a corporation is legally required to put the financial interests of its shareholders above all else. Safety and environmental considerations should only be made if it will have a positive effect on the value or profit of the corporation.

Since Isuzu does not sell passenger cars/trucks in US anymore, I am not sure there would be a recall. I do remember reading about problems with rear suspension on the Isuzu forums.

Ahh! That's got to be what is. They totally fizzled after 2004 only offering clones to the Chevy Trailblazer chassis and Colorado chassis. I do miss my 2002 Rodeo though!

Actually, Colorado is built on the Isuzu world truck chassis. GM, in its infinite wisdom, pulled out a great 4 cylinder diesel that Isuzu had in it and shoe-horned the terrible I5 in its place.
My Axiom is a "fancy" Rodeo with different sheet metal, stiffened up frame, adjustable shocks and a multi-mode transmission. I love that truck. Gas mileage is not the greatest, but it will plow thru 2' deep snow like it's not there.
I have not had any problems with suspension on my Axiom (knock on wood), but I did get it undercoated soon after buying it, and AK DOT does not use salt on the roads.

I remember drooling over the Axiom when I bought our 2002 Rodeo. The Axiom was ahead of it's time for sure. It's amazing how many nearly identical others made it and the Axiom flopped because no one knew it existed. I don't think our local ZooZoo dealer had more than 6 of them.
I wound up trading the Rodeo because we needed room for 3 child seats at the time. The Rodeo didn't do much worse than my Santa Fe does MPG wise! I averaged 19-20 with the Rodeo, 20-22 with the Santy.

They were pretty rare, especially 1998-2002. Isuzu offered such awesome incentives in the early 2000's on the Rodeo, it made no sense to buy a Passport. When I purchased my 2002 Rodeo LS 4x4 brand new, the incentive was $7K off sticker, so I got it for $20K. The ~2000-2002 Rodeo also had a 10yr/120Kmi power-train warranty.

I know in my area, the Isuzu dealer I originally bought from, moved to a local "auto strip" w/in the last few years. I've long since sold the Rodeo (2006), but figured any owners in the area would be SOL after the move.
