I know Honda is adamant about not using anything but Honda fluid in the power steering system.
My question is, has anyone used Auto-RX or any other additive in the power steering system of their Honda/Acura with any luck? What if any results did you get?

I've been impressed with Aaron's results with Auto-RX and his power steering on his Nissan, and I'd like to give it a try on my 87 Honda, but I'm a little weary. I couldn't find any posts regarding anyone trying Auto-RX in their Honda PS system.

Peter, I've done it in an '89 Accord. I just took the old p/s out with the a-rx 2 weeks ago. I think the leak has stopped, but will wait to confirm.

There was a post about the a-rx working in an Acura p/s unit which led me to try it.

PS: The other "stop leaks" I had tried did nothing. Didn't slow it a bit.

Peter,
I used auto-rx in my Acura PS in Jan. I posted it here on this board. The leak went away within days. My fluid did not move at all until last month when I had my transmission drained. I think my mechanic must have bumped something. I lost from full to fill in one week. I used the tukey baster method to clean out the fluid and it hasn't leaked again. By the way, I had clean fluid when I added 2oz of rx so I never bothered to drain the fluid. To this day there is still some rx in there. I just figured it was like a maintenace dose. But I'm not saying anyone should leave in like I did. just FYI Ted
ps-Acura PS units cost 800-1000 to have redone-I was willing to risk it.

Go to www.auto-rx.net for Power Steering Application. One is for just cleaning unit Second is for stopping leak. Auto-Rx is "NOT" an oil additive. Auto-Rx does not change chemistry of your power steering fluid at all.Auto-Rx can do no harm.

Frank, I looked and looked, but couldn't find instructions for adding it to the power steering fluid...honestly, I'm very internet savvy, but your page is a like a maze.
I added 2oz to my power steering system last week, and it's too early to really tell, but so far, it seems to have had a positive effect, although only time will tell if it's a permanent and complete fix.
Please give me a direct link to the application instructions for power steering, I'm interested in your recommendations.

I'm currently about 200 miles into my first Auto-RX treatment in the engine oil. I only wish I had a specific problem for it to address, or if I took some measurements or pictures beforehand, but I'm mostly just doing it for kicks.
