I bought 5 quarts back in May of the IDEMITSU produced Honda MTF. I went to Honda to pick up some more and the MTF is now Made in USA and not longer has the IDEMITSU brand logo on it! I went to four different dealers and every single parts guy was either retarded or played dumb stating that the Fluid has not changed since 2001. Now I need to call around and try to find some of the good old stuff. Dang bean counters are at it again. Maybe someone will submit a VOA on the new USA formula.

I'm sure its no big deal. Why not try this new formula? A lot of Honda drivers swear by all kinds of other brands besides the Honda formula anyways. Maybe this new stuff is better? I'm willing to try it, I never liked the stock fluid in my trans...
FWIW I am also fairly certain the parts people don't know and don't care, its spec'd for their car, they sell it, so what.

I just wonder why they changed it and hopefully it was not another EPA Mandated change. I was just thinking Honda was not making any profit on it being shipped and produced in Japan. Plus I was looking fowarded to the extra shot of Radiation!

Why do you automatically assume it's a cost-cutting measure? What if Honda was able to get a better fluid from someone else? How do you know it's inferior?
Most Idemitsu products sold in the US are made in the US. Maybe this one recently switched to US production as well...
I ran into the same thing as you 6 months ago with the logo missing from the back label. Since then dealers started to sell the logo-ed bottle again...
I believe it's the same fluid and same bottle and nothing except the label changed and that was a temporary thing.
I buy 2 cases of this every 3 months for the past 2 years and did not notice any differences besides the one you saw.
I am very happy with Honda pricing on this, however it doesn't last long. Good product.
