Greetings-
Will reseting oil life monitor after oil change also erase/clear all other maintenence codes from the monitor on 2008 Accord EX-L V6? Car has 30K miles and not a single reminder has ever appeared! All required service is done according to this monitor.

It will only clear what's being displayed. Anything else it's measuring will continue to measure until it's displayed and then cleared.

No. OLM is stored in one place, and the other maintenance items are stored in another, independent place. Clearing the OLM does not erase the other things.

You're saying you've never ever seen SERVICE or dUE SOON or dUE NOW or PAST dUE appear on the display?

Never got a service reminder of any kind on the display-hence my question. All service done based on my experience with about 25 vehicles I have owned.

if the OLM is always reset prior to reaching 15% the service codes will not appear, as they appear at 15% oil life remaining. I think it is fine to reset oil life but I would check your owners manual for the recommended service intervals.

The service code will appear when the display blinks before you push down on the button for a second time to confirm if not yet at 15%.

You should have had at least a B12 by now.

So what was the oil life when you reset the monitor? 20%? 30%? Sounds like you've been changing the oil way too soon. Let it get down to 15% at the very least.

Thanks for the guidance. The OLM was finicky to reset several times-I may have erased reminders wo knowing it. Ois changed every 8 months or so at 50%

If you reset the OLM, any upcoming maintenance items are supposed to be displayed at that time, even if they were due AFTER the oil change was specified.

So, as an example: if you change the oil at 6,000 miles, but a tire rotation was due at 7,500, clearing the OLM will cause the display to flash the tire rotation service code after the OLM is cleared. In other words, the Minder will bump-up required later servicing to the time of the oil change so that they can all be done at the same time. That's what the Honda documents say.

You're not resetting the OLM by disconnecting the battery, are you?
