Seems there have been a few problems, although my 2008 has been 100% trouble free.

Interesting, didnt the 01-0X accord generation have the same engine block seepage issue? From the same porous casting cause?

You're lucky they are doing this. I had a 1994 Accord and there was a crack on the block which cracked near the exhaust manifold bolt mount. It made a hairline crack in the oil return galley. Removing that bolt slowed down the leak. I had over 350,000 km at the time and Honda wouldn't honor anything saying the mileage was too high.

Keep an eye on it, since you don't want to overheat your engine.

Regards, JC.

My Honda engine was made in Canada.

Where was your 94 made? My 94 is a Japan made, no cracks to date.

Take up on that offer and plan few world trips before this 10 year warranty expires!

Seriously, is there anything that you can do to lessen the chances of this happening or to make it happen lot sooner? You want this to blow up before 2016 or never blow up afterwards.

I am not sure if you can do that without warping the head as well. To be honest if the cracks ever developed I'd just get a rebuild engine swapped in and call it a day, or if not severe use bar stop leak.
