Well, I view it more as a race to the bottom. Both sides are to blame. Customers don't want to PAY more for service, and are quick to jumpship to the lowest priced option, so it spirals downhill as the margins disappear.
Same as with the airlines. People keep whining about flight service and being cramped in a tube, yet they still go with the undercutting cheapest flight they find in the online searches.

If you bought a lexus for example, you WILL be taken care of and the problems will be fixed... BUT you've got to be OK with the cost of that, either hidden inside the purchase price; or within a prepaid all-inclusive service contract, or out of pocket.

Sounds like a lack of OCD. I prescribe you make at least 4000 posts on this forum per year and that should make your Fit run much better. Good luck OP.

Wow...that's a very strong statement. I'm not sure it can be backed up with factual evidence, can it? If so, I'd be happy to believe it. Without that, it's just an opinion.

Toyota wasn't the world's #1 selling automaker in the 1980's.

Honda probably wasn't too popular either.
