Looking at RA: CHAMP / LUBER-FINER PH2867, are there any other options that does not cost a fortune for a filter?

Planning to buy in 24 or so range. It will be changed with every oil change based on MM or 5K-8K with a good quality oil.

can also get a 15k rated oil and filter out the door for $37

That Champ is ok but is a very basic filter with rubber adbv and cheaper filtration media and you want to go 5-8k so it's better to get the Champ PH2867XL or like others mentioned above Premium Guard Extended or Carquest Premium at Advance Auto.

I don't know if RA still sells Champ PH2867XL and whether they are correct filters now, but I bought 4 to use on my daughter's Acura and filter wouldn't spin on, box and label corresponded to same model, paint stamp on filter said 4777. Inspect filters if you buy them.

The carquest premium is 99% at 30 microns.

Is there any good filters reporting decent filtration at 20micron these days without questionable construction?

You get what you pay for when you’re choosing a $2 filter. Spend a little bit more and get a better quality one like others have suggested
