Honda civic 1.5 Turbo

Do it /looks at sig
I want go 1 step up on oil grade from 20w to 30w.

I already did on my Kia Forte, which suggests 5-20w but I use 5-30W and it goes great, but Honda is different from Kia, it can hold thin oils far better. The engine is very smooth and quiet with 20W.

I know that going 1 step up with viscosity does not give any issue, but I want to be sure if on Honda engines it is ok.

Do your driving conditions suggest any concerns over fuel dilution ?

Otherwise, Forte vs Civic are quite different.

Go very beefy with every Kia, and trend towards thin with VTEC Honda.
No, I do mainly highway, but I see that Kia is more hard than Honda on the oil. With signature series I have pace of mind for long drains as well.

I've used 0w-20, 5w-30, and 5w-40 (Euro) in our 2018 CRV with the 1.5 turbo and could not tell a difference between any of them just driving. Honestly, could not see any difference in gas mileage either. Fuel economy is tied completely to driving patterns, but does not seem at all affected by oil grade, at least not that I could tell, and I calculate MPG on each tank and have since we bought the car new.

I understood even without trying it, and even with 1% less fuel consumption, it would not have been worth having less wear protection anyway.

5w-40 Euro has very high HTHS, I think it goes around 4.5, and you had no issue as well, it is good to understand this, thanks.

i've tried 0w30 on my 1.5T but, honestly, these engines do great on 0w20. Been using Mobil 1 EP last four oil changes. i have the L15CA and am not afraid of the upper end of the tach. i'd probably run 30 weight on the track but 0w20 seems perfect for daily driving.
