You think they'll take my offer of $59Mil? I recently finished working with a buddy in The Hamptons in a two year old house we worked in last year. $10.5 mil to buy the house they knocked down, $40 mil to build the new house, and a $2.5 mil pool house which didn't include the cost of the pool. They had a generator that looked like it could power the East End of L.I. lol Nice to have money I guess. According to the builder that was one of three properties owned by this couple.

Yes, absolutely the Seller will accept your $59 million dollar offer. And the Seller will throw in a flight on their private jet to their estate in New Zealand, for a two week all inclusive stay.

I suspect that home unoccupied costs low seven figures just to maintain, secure, and heat.

I'll Airbnb it to cover the incidentals. ;)

The 18th century bookcase looks very out of place in a 21st century building.

Who thought that was a good idea?

The garage, visible on the right of pictures 4 + 5, resemble modern auto dealership service check-in bays.
That's not to say I don't like them.

Take the 18th C bookcase as an accent wall....I could live with it.
(Who said a wall of static old books looks good in a room, anyway?) The encyclopedias on the top shelf do look...out of reach.

In all seriousness, doesn't that stream look perilously close to the house? (think Spring thaws)
We looked at the map and noticed how "squiggly" the waterways were in the immediate vicinity.
That means it's all at roughly the same height.
I've seen mountain streams at considerable slope flood well off their beds...surprisingly so.

The look depicted in pictures 9 + 10 are why one 'simply must' go look at a house in person, unlike the Bugatti Mrs. Kira and I whimsically bought via an Enterprise online listing yesterday.

edit: Thanks for posting, GON.
Happy 4th, youz guys.

Only a 3 car garage?
I'm still blown away at the lack of craftsmanship on the stair to the tub. Exposed nail, apparently rough end that looks unstained, wood cut doesn't follow the curve of the tub...... $60 million USD. Blow this picture up and cringe.

To me, this house has an airport feel to it.
The living room in particular looks like a nice airport lounge.
The library does seem out of place in this house, but the owner may have intended that as an eclectic element in this post moderne design.
Anyway, an impressive house that might not be all that great to actually live in.

Hey but it's affordable LOL if you're a Multibillionaire!

There is no "there" "there" for $55,000,000. It was assessed at 2.3 mill in 2024 and I assume it was not fully done. But the county/state says "addition" 1.6 mill. There is NOTHING there to justify $55 mill. It is JUST a commercial bowed roof with common commercial glass. I assume no basement ?? with no "there" "there" on the inside. And ONLY a 3 car garage??? Where is the 8 car garage with a 3,000 sq ft workshop? I have a little rambler in a 1st ring suburb of Minneapolis with a single car garage, and a 1,100 sq ft heated and air cond garage in the small back yard that can fit 6 cars. There is only $10 mill. at best house there, more like $8 mill., no more like $7 mill. Not much land there also to even come close to justifying that price. Builder gouging of a house with no "there" "there". Just Nothingisum.

Outside of a couple of the bedrooms there is not a single place in that whole house that looks like a cozy spot o be on a cold WY winter. The excessive space and vast open concept is cold.
