Highest increase in home prices from March 2020-October 2024, Irvine, CA 83 percent gain (yes 83 percent)

California Dreaming is dead for the average income person.

It’s a beautiful place to visit, I just think someone would have to lost their good sense to love there now (Unless you already live there. :))

You are literally overpaying for everything….simply not worth the extra dough……

I disagree. Compared to most of Orange County, it is inexpensive.

That's the thing-it's not Orange County. It's Riverside County. Completely different micro climate. It doesn't get ocean breezes-but gets all the smog from the Inland Empire. And you have to deal with the HORRIBLE 91frwy to go anywhere.

Fayette-nam is #3? 😆 :ROFLMAO:
Spent seven years there. Fayetteville continues to steadily grow in uniformed, civilian, and contractor workforce. All good paying jobs.

We didn't love Fayetteville, and looked at options to include commuting to RDU area and even Wilmington area. Issue with long commutes is it can take a long time to get through the gates to get to work, so a long commute and long gate wait makes a long commute even more painful.

I wonder how much of investor type properties or Airbnb drove up these prices.

Many Airbnb owners are now trying to sell their properties even if they lose some money.

No disrespect to military who were stationed there but to voluntarily up and move to Cumberland County NC unless you were opening a tattoo parlor, video poker or used car lot is way down on my list of places. Without question its growth is tied to Ft. Bragg.

It is funny you said that. My youngest Son serving in South Korea recently received orders to FT Bragg. He requested to extend in South Korea rather than a Permanant Change of Station (PCS) to FT Bragg later this spring. I equate him not wanting to PCS to FT Bragg to be from the "barracks lawyers" in Korea. Mostly based on erroneous or out of context information.

Having spent seven years at FT Bragg, I think the area gets a bad rap that was established after the end of the Vietnam war. Every time I return to Fayetteville, I see less places of ill repute and such; these nasty places are regularly torn down and replaced with new buildings and legitimate businesses.

Strip Clubs near military bases are also good money makers.
