High volume oil pumps?

Our first f150 had the 5.4 and it was a gutless (300 hp from 5.4 liters??) gas guzzling boat anchor of an engine. But the truck did roll 100k miles with minimal maintenance- oil and filters only and the truck itself was very tight and comfortable. When the EB trucks hit the scene as ‘11 models we bought 2 of them, traded one at 60k miles running just fine (hers) and the other is still with us, my FX4 with 120k currently on the clock. It has taken only normal maintenance and is still quiet and strong, both engine and body. I switched to Euro oils early on (Castrol 0w40) on the FX4 and that, with sane OCIs have avoided the pit falls many early builds EcooBoost engines had.

We were a GM family until that first F150 and it finished our run of continually worsening quality Chevys. Just this last week I was riding in a brand new GMC Terrain and was impressed with the quietness and supple tide until the owner told me it took a new transmission at 300 miles. It only had 2000 miles on it. Jeez.....

We’re not tied to any particular brand but the Fords have stayed out of the shop so I guess it’ll be Fords till they goof up.
