I gave up on mobil1. Was WAY TOO expensive around my town and did nothing to benefit me. I got a bunch of PP at AAP for only 2.84 per qt. Still have boxes and boxes of it left. My engine was spotless inside when I bought it because the state did 3 ~ 4k changes religiously. I want to keep it that way. I may go to 5k when the UOA goes back to normal.

PP in my 04 4.6 Modular runs well over 10,000 miles with no problems. But, they are highway miles....

Stupid question, could higher silicon indicate a slight bit of coolant in the oil or would blackstones equipment show a small percentage of antifreeze towards the bottom of the UOA if this was the case?

When I had my 2001 Crown Vic, my silicon always read high as well, and I changed the oil (M1) every 7,500 - 12,000 miles. I never worried about the silicon as there was no corresponding increase in any wear metals. Never seemed to cause any problems...
