I've seen a number of ads on the internet for a couple of kinds of high pressure sprayers allegedly powered only by a garden hose. Sounds too good to be true.

Has anyone tried one? Does it work?

It's impossible for those to increase pressure, and if they somehow do, there will be a reduction in volume.

Utter nonsense. The best they can do is provide a smooth stream of water. Any $2 fire hose nozzle can do that.

The 600ea 1 star reviews at Homeless Depot are epic:
If I could give it a zero I would. It shoots out a very narrow stream of water (pencil thin) that is barely stronger than the high setting on a hose
There is nothing Turbo about this product. The pressure was weak. And not well labeled. Turbo jet identifies as powerful. This product was like a drip.

I'm a born sceptic but I thought I should ask if anyone had actually tried one.

I have an electric sprayer borrowed from my SIL. While the pressure is fairly decent, the flow rate is low. It does clean the moss off our driveway but it is painfully slow.

In previous discussions on "Bob" the consensus was you need both pressure and flow rate. I just hate to buy something that I'd use about once a year. And renting one isn't practical as I don't own a truck. And no I don't want to buy a truck.

Is there an option to hire the job done? That might be a solution. For me I'd buy a gas power washer.

Paying someone sounds like your best option. Neighbor, or a teen in the neighborhood that does it for money.
